No puedes.

Curious thing:
The movie came out first, in 1970. Then, the productores told Segal to write the story like a novel.
Dato curioso:

(I know, he's a delight! (?) /¡Lo sé! ¡Es un guapetón! (?))

Erich Segal Quotes/Frases:

  • I was afraid of being rejected, yes. I was also afraid of being accepted for the wrong reasons /Sí, tenía miedo de ser rechazado.
  • The pain of not knowing what to do was exceeded only by that of knowing what I had done /El dolor que causaba no saber qué hacer era superado únicamente por el hecho de saber lo que yo mismo había hecho.
  •                             "What the hell makes you smart?" I asked.
"I wouldn't go for  cofee with you
"Listen - I wouldn't ask you"
"That" she replied "is what makes you stupid"
"Oye... Yo no te he invitado"
PD: This is a metaphor. It isn't literal ;)

  • Please, if one of us cries, let both of us cry. But preferably neither of us /Por favor, si uno de nosotros llora, déjennos llorar a los dos. Pero preferiblemente a ninguno de los dos.
  • I hoped there was a God I could say thank you to /Yo esperaba que hubiera un Dios al cual pudiera agradecerle.

  • "You don't know about falling off cliffs, Preppie" she said "You never fell one in your goddamn life"
"Yeah" I said, recovering the power of speech. "When I met you"

PN: I'd say that the thing that I liked the most bout this book wasn't just the end (that everyone hates, but I love by some weird reason), nor the psycological aspect that is reflected (which is very realist), but the story itself. What happens between Jenn and Oliver... it amused me, cause it isn't the "Hey, baby, let's go for a coffee" kind of story. It's actually the opposite kind of.
I admire Jen; she's a strong, decided and optimistic girl (things that I love of a female protagonist; I hate idiots and useless female protagonists, I HATE them at all), and that motivates me (maybe to be like her, maybe to not hate her)  and makes me feel identified with her. I liked this story cause it shows a part of Love that many times is ignored, and also 'cause the story is different from what it's common to read.

Jay Asher quotes/frases:

From '13 reasons why': /De 'Por 13 razones':

  • When you mess with one part of a person’s life, you’re messing with their entire life. Everything. .

  • No one knows for certain how much impact they have on the lives of other people.

  •  But sometimes there’s nothing left to do but move on /Pero a veces no hay nada que hacer, salvo seguir adelante.
  • But you can't get away from yourself. You can't decide not to see you anymore. You can't decide to turn off the noise in your head /Sin embargo, no puedes dejar de ser tú. No puedes decidir no verte más. No puedes decidir simplemente apagar esa voz en tu cabeza.
(La mayoría de ustedes se preocupó.
Sólo que no lo suficiente)

  •  You can't go back to how things were. How you thought they were. All you really have is...now.
  • In the end... everything matters / Al final... todo importa.
  •  You can hear rumors. But you can't know them. /Puedes oír los rumores. Pero no puedes saber si son reales.
  •  I hate not knowing what to believe anymore. I hate not knowing what's real /Detesto no saber qué creer. Detesto no saber qué es real y qué no.

PN: Particularly, I didn't like just too much this book. Actually, if I'd have to rate it, I'd give it four stars. Or maybe even three. Let me explain myself: it is a good book (the quotes I took from it are AMAZING), but I really don't like books about (spoiler alert:) suicide. Again, it was good. I was really enternained. I realized of a lot of things that, even though might look stupid, actually are important. So, in the end, it is the kind of book I enjoyed (I really did), but it isn't the kind of book I would read again. So, yes, I'm sorry, but that's my opinion.

Fangirling: Levi *---*

From "Fangirl", by Rainbow Rowell: /De "Fangirl", por "Rainbow Rowell):
Levi:

("Está bien si estás loca" dijo él suavemente.
"Ni siquiera lo sabes" dijo ella.
"No tengo que saberlo" dijo él "Yo te apoyo")

("Cather..."

PersonalNote: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LEVI. From the first time he smiled in the novel, I loved him, really. He is the kind of guy you read, and leaves you wondering why in this world guys like him do not actually exist. *WHY????*
/NotaPersonal: YO ABSOLUTAMENTE AMO A LEVI.

CarMichael's Note: I, personally, loved this book. Seriously. It is, actually, the kind of book I would read over and over again just because it is that kind of AMAZING and WONDERFUL. This book reminds you of your first love and makes you realize that things don't have to be perfect for being beautiful.

100% recomendado/recomended.

Suzanne Collins

From the Trilogy The Hunger Games /De la Trilogía Los Juegos del Hambre:

PD: Is worth noting that it was really hard for me to choose the quotes I wanted to put here, because most of them depend of the context... and the idea isn't putting here the entire book, obviously /Cabe resaltar que fue realmente difícil escoger frases porque la mayoría depende del contexto... y la idea no es colocar el libro entero aquí, claro está.
